Lebanese Hezbollah Targets Israeli Military Base With Missiles

JAKARTA - The Lebanese Hezbollah group announced it had targeted an Israeli military base near the Dhayra border area with missiles.

Through a statement, the group confirmed its commitment to provide a "firm response" to Israel's aggression against Lebanon.

The Lebanese state-run NationalNews Agecy (NAA) quoted the statement as reporting, ; this target is a firm response to the Zionist attack that occurred last Monday, resulting in the loss of some of our members, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

"The Islamic Resistance Army (referring to Hezbollah) launched a missile that appropriately hit Jaradah near Dhayra. This attack resulted in significant casualties among Israeli troops, either killed or injured," the statement continued.

Earlier, the Israeli military retaliated with artillery fire at southern Lebanon shortly after two rockets were fired from Lebanese territory into northern Israeli cities.

In an official statement, the Israeli military announced: "Currently we are carrying out an operation in Lebanese territory in response to the firing of anti tank missiles aimed at one of our positions."

Three people were injured as a result of Israeli bombings on Wednesday morning in villages and southern cities of Lebanon, which destroyed property and agricultural land, according to NNA.

In addition, Israel is also targeting the main tanks supplying water to Yarine village.

On Tuesday, October 10, Hezbollah attacked Israel's Mirzava tank with a missile that destroyed the tank, in response to Israel issuing a statement regarding the attack, and subsequently opened fire on an affiliated military point with Hezbollah.

At the same time, Hezbollah was reported to have also lost three members.

The increase in tensions in Israel's northern front sparked international concerns about the widespread hostilities on the Lebanese-Israeli front so that the UN Temporary Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) called on the two sides to exercise restraint amid threats of clashes that could turn into war.

Due to the dramatic increase in tensions in the Middle East, Israeli forces launched a sustainable and powerful military offensive in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a military attack by Palestinian Hamas groups attacking their territory.

The conflict occurred when Hamas began Operation Hurricane Al Aqsa with a surprise attack through a series of rocket fire, and infiltration into Israeli territory in response to the raid on Al Aqsa Mosque and violence against Palestinians.

Israel retaliated with the Iron Sword Operation targeting the Gaza Strip, which extends by cutting off water and electricity supplies to Gaza, exacerbating life in the region which has been in very poor condition under siege since 2007.
