After Being Congested And Sued PSI, Viani Limardi Now Joins Gerindra

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta DPRD member Viani Limardi admitted that he is now a Gerindra Party cadre. He decided to join the Gerindra Party after being fired from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

Viani previously sued PSI in court and demanded compensation for his dismissal. Now, Viani has moved parties and is running again as a candidate for DPRD members for the 2024-2029 period in the 2024 Legislative Election.

"God willing (to become a candidate for the Gerindra Party). Therefore, later the certainty will be in the DCT (permanent candidate list), yes," Viani told reporters, Wednesday, October 11.

Viani admitted that her decision to join the party bearing the Garuda symbol was because she supported the General Chairperson of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 General Election.

"Yes (join Gerindra) because Pak Prabowo. We don't arbitrarily choose parties, but in 2029 we will see who is the leader of the Indonesian state," he said.

Despite having clashed with his old party, Viani admitted that she accepted to leave her position as a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD by other PSI cadres because of the interim replacement (PAW) proposal if she qualified as a Gerindra Party candidate.

"Yes, that's why it is seen that if you enter it, it means moving, it means 'PAW', right. But if you don't come in, piye, right? Yes, hopefully," he said.

Some time ago, Chairman of the PSI Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Elva Farhi Qolbina, urged the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, to immediately process the application for PAW Viani Limardi with other cadres.

Viani has been fired from party membership by PSI since almost 2 years ago. PSI has also submitted a PAW letter to the chairman of the DKI DPRD.

"We have submitted PAW Viani's letter to the DPRD leadership since October 14, 2021. However, to this day our application letter has not been processed by the leadership of the DKI DPRD. We have tried our best but have not received any response from the leadership of the DKI DPRD," Elva told reporters, Monday, August 21.

At that time, the DPRD had not processed PAW Viani had a legal dispute in court. Viani sued PSI for her dismissal at the Central Jakarta District Court on October 19, 2021 but was rejected.

Viani also filed an appeal as a further measure of resistance. Until finally, Viani's appeal was rejected by the DKI Jakarta High Court on January 31, 2023.

So, according to Elva, Viani no longer has a legal process to take to demand that the party led by Giring Ganesha.

"The High Court also refused to try Viani's lawsuit against PSI because Viani should have submitted an objection to the Party Court first. However, she did not file anything to the Party Court when she was dismissed," said Elva.
