Marriage Invitation Rejected, Man In Bandung Kills Lover In Cicalengka Forest

BANDUNG - The mystery of finding a woman's corpse rotting in a forest in Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, was revealed. The victim, known to have the initials AYK (47) was killed by his girlfriend, HS (32). The murder was triggered because the victim repeatedly refused his invitation to marry.

HS admitted that he had planned the murder after his invitation to remarry was rejected by the victim. After the two had sex, the perpetrator strangled and hit the victim's face twice at the scene, last Thursday.

The perpetrator then hid the victim's body by covering it with leaves and straw. Not only leaving his dead girlfriend, HS also took the victim's money.

"I intended to meet in a quiet place, and it has been two days planning the murder. The money taken from the victim was used for snacks," said Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Kusworo Wibowo at the Bandung Police Headquarters.

The victim's body was found by residents who were looking for bamboo in the forest area of Evidence of Japura, Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency two weeks after the incident or last Thursday. When found, the victim's body had rotted.

Armed with the results of the crime scene and the statements of witnesses at the location where the victim was found, the Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit officers immediately conducted an investigation and hunted down the perpetrators.

"After the victim's body was found to be rotting, on October 8, 2023, the suspect was able to be secured by the Bandung Police Satreskrim," said Kusworo Wibowo.

After an investigation and arresting the perpetrator of the murder, the motive for killing his girlfriend was revealed. The perpetrator admitted to killing his girlfriend for refusing to marry.

"The perpetrator was upset because the victim refused the perpetrator's invitation to marry because his son had not approved their relationship," he said.

For his actions, HS will be charged with Article 340 of the HUP regarding premeditated murder, and Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with the threat of life imprisonment.
