JAKARTA - The General Chairperson ofPSIKaesang Pangarep welcomed either to join or "log in" the General Chairperson of the PB Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) for the 2017-2021 period Agus Muryono Herlambang to the party he leads.

Kaesang said Agus MHerlambang was a representative of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) who joined PSI.

"We hope to become a forum for NU residents who may choose a different party," said Kaesang at the PSI office, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.

According to him, since the launch of the "Log in kePSI" program, many have registered as party cadres and legislative candidates (caleg).

However, he said, currently registration for legislative candidates has been closed due to limited time.

Agus Muryono Herlambang admitted that he joined PSI because of the Kaesang factor in leading the party.

"I was moved to join PSI because of Mas Kaesang's factor," he said.

He believes that what he fought for when he became chairman of PB PMII, could be continued at PSI.

"Unknowingly shocked, there is a president's son who is different from his father. Only in PSI," he said

According to him, PMII is an Islamic student organization born from NU "rahim", and during his leadership, the organization actively asked the government to dissolve HTI.

He also submitted a judicial review to the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the MD3 Law and rejected the immunity rights of DPR members.

"It keeps politics away from society and I see my struggle can be continued here," he said.

In addition, the General Chairperson of Horas Bangso Batak, Lamsiang Sitompul, also stated that he had joined PSI.

He is determined together with PSI to fight corruption and bullying against minorities.

"We support the existence of a bill for confiscation of assets. This is a support to eradicate corruption in this nation," he said.
