JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep said his party would state its direction of support for the presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) next week.

"God willing, it will be announced next week," said Kaesangusai meeting with Jokowi's National Secretariat in Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.

According to him, the announcement of the party's stance was taken after consolidating parties at the DPD, DPW, and PSI DPP levels. Kaesang said that he as the party leader had asked for opinions and aspirations from the regions regarding the party's political direction for the 2024 presidential election.

"We have asked for regional aspirations, what do we want. What we get will be announced later," he said.

Kaesang emphasized that until now PSI has not made a choice of support for one of the presidential candidates (readpres).

Therefore, according to him, his visit with PSI leaders to the volunteer office was part of the political gathering, including with Jokowi's National Secretariat.

"These volunteers have made their respective choices, such as Samawi to Pak Prabowo, the National Secretariat to Pak Ganjar. We have no problem with this," he said.

Kaesang said this visit was part of the gathering to synergize and collaborate in the future for Indonesia 2045.

Chairman of the Jokowi National Secretariat Volunteers (Seknas) Rambun Tjajo said the meeting between himself and Kaesang did not talk much about the 2024 General Election.

"There are more gatherings and stories about President Jokowi inspiring this organization," he said.

For political choices, Jokowi's National Secretariat has made the choice to support Ganjar Pranowo in Jokowi's National Working Meeting some time ago.

"This is an organizational decision that we must implement in the future," he said.

Previously, PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and PSI officials held a closed-door meeting for an hour with the Jokowi National Secretariat Management in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
