Expected To Be A Vice Presidential Candidate, Mahfud MD: That's Political Party And Coalition Affairs

BADUNG - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD responded to the news that he was on the vice presidential exchange, Ganjar Pranowo.

Mahfud said the determination of the vice presidential candidate was a matter of political parties with their coalition.

"That's a political party matter, isn't it. I can't talk about it officially," he said, after filling a public lecture at Udayana University (Unud), Bali, Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali, Tuesday, October 10.

Mahfud then repeated the affirmation that the vice presidential candidate was the authority of the political party and its coalition. He believes that the party's choice is the best figure.

"That is so that it becomes the authority of political parties and their coalition to choose the best. The important thing is that political parties convey their best candidates, whoever in my opinion is not a problem," he said.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani said Mahfud MD's name was seen as one of the candidates for vice presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo with a background from the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization in the 2024 presidential election.
