DKI Bawaslu Postpones Trial For Alleged Violation Of Elections For The Song 'PAN PAN PAN'

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has decided to postpone the trial of reading the findings of alleged administrative violations of the 2024 General Election until Wednesday (11/10) because the reported party, the National Mandate Party DPP (PAN), was not present.

"The reported party (DPP PAN) wrote to the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu, which in essence could not attend because of the party's consolidation," said Chairman of the Audit Council and Member of the DKI Bawaslu Benny Sabdo at the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu office, South Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 10.

During the trial, a member of the Examining Council, Reki Putera Jaya, read out the contents of a letter from the PAN DPP stating that the party was consolidating the winning team in the regions and asked Bawaslu to reschedule the trial.

Benny said the Examining Council agreed to postpone the trial to tomorrow (11/10) with the agenda of reading the answers of the reported party, submitting evidence from the inventor, namely the South Jakarta City Bawaslu, as well as being reported, as well as examining witnesses from the inventor.

Regarding the absence of PAN representatives as the reported party in the trial, Benny hopes that representatives of the party can come.

"We hope that the reported party can come here again so that together we can hear the answers from the reported party," he said.

He said the duration of handling cases suspected of administrative violations of the General Election in Bawaslu only had 14 working days, which in this trial was only until October 19.

Benny hopes that PAN can cooperate so that the entire series of trials can be held immediately.

"We hope that the reported party will cooperate so that we can complete the entire series of trials," said Benny.

The trial was held at 10.00 WIB at the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu office with the agenda of reading the answers reported by the PAN DPP as well as evidence.

The inventors, namely the South Jakarta City Bawaslu, were fully attended by their members, namely the Head of South Jakarta Bawaslu Atiq Amalia, members of South Jakarta Bawaslu Asyari, Andi Maulana, Ahmad Fahlevi, and Lensi Anah.

As previously reported, the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu held a trial to discuss alleged administrative violations committed by the National Mandate Party (PAN) related to the party's "PAN PAN PAN" song.

The inventors, namely the South Jakarta City Bawaslu (Jaksel), stated that there were allegations of administrative violations of the election with the release of the song on PAN's TikTok and Youtube as well as in the form of advertisements on the Trans 7 television station.

"The reported party is suspected of having carried out socialization activities by publicizing on YouTube social media 'PAN TV' and TikTok 'PAN FRIENDs' as well as advertisements in electronic media broadcast on Trans 7," said Head of South Jakarta Bawaslu Atiq Amalia at the Reading Session reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 5.

He said the form of socialization that was allowed based on Article 79 paragraph 2 of KPU Regulation No. 15 of 2023 concerning General Election Campaign was to put up the political party flag for election participants along with serial numbers.

In addition, it is allowed to hold a limited meeting by informing the KPU and Bawaslu in writing according to the district/city level no later than one day before the activity is carried out.

Therefore, continued Atiq, the publication video contains the song "PAN PAN" on social media and advertisements in electronic mass media, not activities regulated in the article so that it is not allowed during the socialization period.

Responding to this, Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the PAN DPP Viva Yogi Mauladi said his party asked for time to observe the findings.

"Regarding the differences in multiple interpretations of the language, method, and procedure, we ask for time to study in detail and will answer officially the findings of Bawaslu," said Viva.
