West Aceh Kejari Holds Pregnant Women Drug Dealers In Meulaboh Prison

MEULABOH - The District Attorney (Kejari) of West Aceh Province, detained MN, a pregnant woman suspected of narcotics trafficking at the Class II Meulaboh Penitentiary, after previously being handed over by local police investigators.

"Our MN suspect will be detained for the next 20 days," said the Head of the West Aceh District Attorney's Office, Siswanto, accompanied by the Head of the Datun Section Faizah, to reporters in Meulaboh, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

He said the suspect, MN, who was six months pregnant, was declared healthy after previously being examined for pregnancy by a team of doctors, so he was then detained and placed in Meulaboh Prison, West Aceh.

According to Siswanto, MN was detained for allegedly being involved with the suspect MA, as a drug dealer of methamphetamine, after previously being arrested in the Suak Indrapuri Village area, Johan Pahlawan District, Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency.

"From the hands of the two suspects, officers secured evidence of methamphetamine with a net weight of 5.44 grams," he said.

Apart from MN suspects and MA, he said, the West Aceh Kejari also detained another suspect in a similar case with the initials RA, who was previously arrested in Paya Peunaga Village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency.

"From the hands of suspect RA, evidence of methamphetamine weighing 0.37 grams was also found," he said.

In this case, according to him, the suspects MA and MN were charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 (1) and 127 paragraph (1) letter (a) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

Meanwhile, suspect RA was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) Article 112 paragraph (1) and Article 127 paragraph (1) letter (a) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

"The three of them were detained after the investigation file was declared complete or P-21," said Siswanto.

"According to him, the three were detained at the Class II Meulaboh Penitentiary, West Aceh, in order to wait for the delegation in order to further undergo trial at the Meulaboh District Court," said Siswanto.
