JAKARTA - A fire hit a warehouse and piles of garbage near the Pertamina Plumpang Depot in North Jakarta (Jakut). It is suspected that the trigger was the garbage that the residents burned.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Isnawa Adji confirmed the exact fire incident that occurred on Jalan Jembatan III, Kampung Pulo, Kelapa Gading on Sunday, October 8, at 12.20 WIB, it.

"The object of the incident was 1 warehouse and pile of garbage," Isnawa said in his statement, Sunday, October 8.

A total of 13 fire engines and dozens of personnel were deployed to speed up the fire fighting process.

"The blackout process is at 12.22 WIB, the cooling process is 12.53 WIB, (it is stated) after the blackout is 15.23 WIB," he said.

Isnama confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

However, he appealed to local residents not to burn garbage in the middle of the dry season, to prevent similar incidents.

"Remember residents in the dry season situation reduce activities of burning garbage, logs and junk because it can trigger fires to settlements," he concluded.
