Proven To Receive CPNS Selection Gratification, Prosecutors In NTB Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

The panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court stated that a functional prosecutor serving in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Eka Putra Raharjo was proven to have received gratuities in the selection of prospective civil servants (CPNS).

"This is by adjudicating the imprisonment of the defendant Eka Putra Raharjo for 3 years," said Chief Judge Mukhrassuddin, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 6.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rp. 150 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison. In the verdict, the judge ordered the defendant to remain in custody.

"Ordered that the defendant remains in detention and reduced as long as the defendant is detained," he said.

At the end of the verdict, the judge returned the defendant's file to the public prosecutor for investigation with other perpetrators.

The judge also believes that witnesses Jatima and witness Husni Tamrin must be included in the development of the investigation of the case of Eka Putra Raharjo.

The judge handed down the verdict by stating that Eka Putra Raharjo's actions were proven to have violated Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 421 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code jo. Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in accordance with the alternative charges of the two public prosecutors.

In the description of the verdict, the judge agreed with the prosecutor's demands that Eka Putra Raharjo take advantage of his position as a functional prosecutor to extort a number of CPNS participants who participated in the selection at the prosecutor's office and the NTB Ministry of Law and Human Rights for the period 2020 to 2021.
