Asked About The Invitation To Support Ganjar, Kaesang Emphasized That He Should Not Disrupt If PSI Supports Other Presidential Candidates

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep talked about the PDIP's invitation to PSI to support Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

Kaesang is still reluctant to emphasize the direction of support for Ganjar. However, according to him, there should be no derogatory attitude if PSI supports other presidential candidates.

Initially, Kaesang admitted that he would follow up on the meeting between PSI and PDIP today. Kaesang admitted that his party wanted to intensify communication with PDIP through the daughter of the Chairman of the DPR and Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani, Pinka Hapsari. The reason is, Erina Gudono's husband does not want to disturb Puan's busy schedule as chairman of the DPR.

"I'm also usually WA-an with Ms. Puan but so that it doesn't interfere with the time of the chairman of the DPR RI, so I asked for the number of Ms. Puan's daughter, Mba Pinka, so that communication is much more intense," said Kaesang, Thursday, October 5.

Kaesang then said that Puan Maharani was quite wise in exploring political cooperation between PDIP and PSI. He said, even if PSI does not support Ganjar in 2024, there should not be an attitude of derising each other between the two camps.

"Yes, everything is normal, if I think Ms. Puan is fair-fair. If we want to support it, we will welcome it, with open arms. But if not, we have to work together, we can't be rich, I said we can't criticize, or later when it's over after the election, we will work together again, because everything goes back again for the country," said Kaesang.

Meanwhile, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani said that her party would be open if PSI under the leadership of Kaesang wanted to join in supporting Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate.

"As Mas Kaesang said earlier, we are trying to open up to each other to open up, tell each other or convey what things Kaesang can convey at PSI as well as how the PDIP's unstable situation has been so far," said Puan.

Puan said PSI and PDIP are trying to unite the existing spirit to build the nation and state.

"Of course after this, this is not the last communication or initial communication, but we will carry out more intensive communication," said Puan.
