JAKARTA - The Presidential Palace through the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno confirmed that the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) requested a request to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. "There is a request from Mr. SYL (Syahrul Yasin Limpo) to appear before the President. The matter has not been conveyed," said Pratikno when contacted via a short message application in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, October 5. At SYL's request, Pratikno said that his party had scheduled to accept Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo today. However, the meeting is still looking for the right time. "It is planned that the Minister of State Secretary will receive it today, but the time is not yet appropriate," said Pratikno. Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) responded to the news that the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) would face him at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, this Thursday. The Head of State admitted that he did not know the news. He asked that this be confirmed with the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg). Since Thursday morning, information has been circulating that SYL will go to the Presidential Palace on Thursday afternoon, after visiting Polda Metro Jaya and holding internal activities in his ministry. Syahrul was detected to have returned to Indonesia on Wednesday (4/10) evening after reportedly "loss contact" after working in Europe amid an investigation into a suspected corruption case in his ministry. He left for Italy on September 24, 2023, then continued his trip to Spain. He was originally scheduled to return to the country on Saturday (30/9), but he separated from the Ministry of Agriculture delegation and could not be contacted until Monday (2/10). KPK investigators on Friday, September 29, 2023, announced that they had raised the status of the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture to the investigation stage. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri explained that anti-corruption agency investigators had named a number of parties as suspects in the case. However, the KPK has not been able to announce who the parties have been named as suspects because of the ongoing investigation and collection of evidence. The KPK has also searched the official residence of Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo at Widya Chandra Complex, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 28, 2023, and found evidence in the form of cash worth billions of rupiah.

During the search, KPK investigators also found 12 firearms that have now been handed over to Polda Metro Jaya for follow-up.
