The National Police Chief Checks Information On Cases Of Alleged Extortion Involving KPK Leaders And Minister Of Agriculture SYL

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo will confirm the truth about the alleged extortion case involving the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Originally, a summons for examination was issued by the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police regarding the investigation into alleged corruption in the form of extortion. The letter was addressed to Panji Harianto and Heri as aides and drivers from the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).

"Yes, we will check it at the Regional Police, later after that we will give it a release," said Sigit to reporters, Thursday, October 5.

However, Sigit made no other statement regarding the handling of the case. The former Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit only reiterated that he would confirm the truth first.

"It will be checked first," said Sigit.

For information, the two summons were registered with number B/10338/VIII/Res.3.3./2023/Ditreskrimsus and B/10339/VIII/Res.3./2023/Ditreskrimsus. The letter was signed by the Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri.

In the letter, it was stated that Polda Metro Jaya, in this case the Directorate of Special Crimes, was investigating allegations of corruption in the form of extortion committed by the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia in handling cases at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2021.

Then, Panji Harianto and Heri as aides and drivers from the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) were asked to attend the examination room of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police on August 28, 2023 at around 09.30 WIB.
