Jokowi Proposed To Be The Next Chairman Of PDIP, Hasto Emphasizes That The Soekarno Trah Is Still Strong

JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said the family breed of Indonesia's First President Soekarno still has a strong position to become the next general chairman.

Hal ini disampaikan Hasto saat merespons pertanyaan wartawan terkait garis politik ketua umum PDIP selanjutnya.

"This is from the reading of the lower flow that I did as Secretary General of the PDIP DPP which put Mrs. Mega in a position that in the history of the party was indeed a binder," said Hasto, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.

This is because his party needs a strong figure and has ties to lower-level cadres during the transitional government in 2024. Hasto also believes that Megawati and her family still have these criteria.

"If the lower flow that we caught earlier put Bung Karno's family as ideologists, Bung Karno as the proclaimer, and the Father of the Nation, so that the ID party was one of the strong points that was indeed from Bung Karno," he explained.

Hasto explained that the party bearing the white-nosed bull is still focused on preparing for the 2024 General Election and Presidential Election. The replacement of the PDIP general chairman will be determined at the Congress which will only be held in 2025.

"After the election, the party will hold the National Working Meeting V and then the Congress will only be held in 2025," said Hasto.

Previously, the eldest leader of the First President of Indonesia and Megawati's older brother, Guntur Soekarnoputra, proposed the name of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as the General Chair of the PDI-P and made Megawati Soekarnoputri the Board of Trustees.
