Police Will Conduct Diversions To Perpetrators Of Stabbing 2 Menteng Residents

The Menteng Metro Police have arrested two residents in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta. The perpetrator is still undergoing examination because he is underage.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Menteng Metro Police, AKP Sam Suharto, said that his party is currently carrying out further handling, because the stabbing perpetrators are still minors.

"Because the minors (the perpetrators) are also different, like later we will have a process, later the diversion will be carried out," said AKP Sam when confirmed, Sunday, October 1.

Furthermore, said Sam, because the perpetrators are children, the diversions carried out are accompanied by assistance by parents, lawyers, and social workers.

"The information is that we have clarified there are approximately four people," he said.

Previously, it was reported that two Menteng residents named Abdul Rahman and Deka Widi Laksono were victims of a beating on Jalan Anyer Ujung, behind SMP 8, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Both of them suffered stab wounds all over their bodies.

Fiki Wijaya (30), a resident of RT 5/09, Jalan Anyer, said that he did not know for sure the initial incident of the commotion. At that time he was at home then there was a friend named Deka Widi Laksono who reported that he had been stabbed behind SMP 8.

"Knowing that there was news, my friends and I went to the location. Then when we met we were immediately attacked, where they were carrying sharp weapons (sajam) like a sickle," he told reporters, Friday, September 29.
