JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) again warned of the potential for forest and land fires (karhutla) in a number of parts of Indonesia, Sunday, in the midst of hot weather that hit the country.

According to BMKG, several areas that have the potential for forest and land fires include Jambi, parts of East Java, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and parts of Lampung.

Especially in Central Kalimantan, BMKG appealed to the public not to burn land for any purpose.
