Joining The PDIP National Working Meeting IV, Gibran: I'm Waiting For Mrs. Ketum's Direction

JAKARTA - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that he was waiting for directions from PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri at the PDIP National Working Meeting today, Saturday, September 30.

This was conveyed by Gibran when asked whether the presence at the Rakernas IV event was a form of firmness in the PDIP carriage. This is because the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has recently been tempted by the Gerindra Party to become a candidate for vice president (cawapres) Prabowo Subianto, who is a presidential candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

"I'm just waiting for directions from Mrs. Ketum," Gibran told reporters at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Saturday, September 30.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani admitted that there was no problem that Gibran Rakabuming Raka was tempted to become a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Prabowo Subianto. He said the decision was entirely in the hands of the cadre.

"Yes, it's the one who proposes to have certain considerations. Only those who are proposed whether they want it or not. That's all. Just supposing this," said Puan during the PDIP National Working Meeting at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Saturday, September 30.

Gibran as a young person, continued Puan, is indeed one of the candidates to be considered as a vice presidential candidate. Moreover, he has achievements as a regional head.

"So, don't look at young people old or later men or women. Everyone has the same opportunity to be able to progress and fight in contestation," said the chairman of the DPR RI.
