Warteg Fire Death Victims In Gambir Increase To 3 People

Central Jakarta Metro Police began conducting investigations related to the fire that hit two warteg shophouses and photocopies kiosk on Setia Kawan Street, RT 02/07, Duri Pulo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

"The fire has been extinguished. Currently it is still cooling down," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin to VOI, Thursday, September 28.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the fire increased to three people. They are thought to have died from fire because they were trapped in the flames that burned a shophouse warteg.

Gambir Metro Police Chief, Kompol Mugia Yarry Junanda confirmed that 3 residents died as a result of a fire that hit two shophouse buildings.

"While the information received was that 3 residents died as a result of the fire," he added.

However, officers do not yet know the identities of the three victims who died as a result of the fire in the shophouse.

Previously, it was reported that two residents were reportedly burned to death due to a fire that hit two shop houses selling food and photocopy kiosks on Jalan Setia Kawan, RT 02/07, Duri Pulo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 28, at noon, at around 13.00 WIB.

"The victim died 2 female people and 3 other people suffered burns. The three people who were burned were Slamet Wahyudu (42), Darkiam (49) and Rafa (7)," said Head of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when confirmed, Thursday, September 28.
