Ummi Wahyuni Becomes Chairman Of The West Java KPU 2023-2028

JABAR - Ummi Wahyuni became the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java (Jabar) for the period 2023-2028, elected through internal plenaries between commissioners.

"The chairman is Mrs. Ummi Wahyuni, chosen through the internal plenary meeting mechanism in Bandung, immediately after the inauguration procession on Sunday (September 24) in Jakarta," said Head of Subdivision of Participation and Public Relations of the West Java KPU Chaeruman Setia Nugraha in a short message in Bandung, Monday, September 25, confiscated by Antara.

Ummi Wahyuni in her statement said that at the beginning of her leadership, the West Java KPU built internal solidity from an early age in an effort to minimize conflicts in the 2024 General Election.

The reason, he continued, was that West Java Province was categorized as an area prone to escalation in elections, so several strategies had to be prepared to minimize conduciveness.

"West Java is the largest voter with 35.7 million, our strategy must consolidate 27 regencies and cities that will lead in urban districts," said Ummi.

In addition, he said, it was also by increasing coordination between the regional KPU together with local stakeholders in dealing with potential conflicts in the 2024 General Election long ago.

"We are increasing the synergy with all stakeholders because it is important to lead the management of West Java with all assistance because our human resources are limited. We will also consolidate institutions and with colleagues in 27 regencies and cities," he said.
