MAKASSAR - A candidate for President Anies Baswedan conveyed the participation of the PKK TP as the frontline in efforts to deal with stunting and reduce maternal and baby mortality in the community.
Handling stunting requires attention from the central and regional governments through budgets and planned prevention and handling programs.
"However, for practice in the field, PKK is the front line that must be maximized and should not be forgotten," he said when he was the main resource person at the Indonesian's Leader Talk at Baruga Pettarani Hasanuddin University, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Antara, Sunday, September 24.
The existence of PKK should be integrated with the existence of Poswindu and Posyandu because they are the closest and in direct contact with the community.
"Poswindu or posyandu have been integrated with the health office and on the contrary, PKK is actually integrated with other agencies. Whereas PKK and Posyandu should integrate in one unit," he answered questions from the Hasanuddin University panelist team.
Anies said the problem of stunting is a problem that needs serious treatment. Utilization of effective budget allocations such as providing auxiliary supplements for adolescents, pregnant women and the elderly is expected to accelerate their handling.
In addition to the stunting issue, Anies Baswedan also explained his thoughts in improving the country's economy and even encouraging economic equality throughout Indonesia.
"What we want to encourage, Indonesia is one economy where the community's economy is connected. This means that our basic needs can be obtained at the same price," he said.
