North Kalimantan Police Chief Adjutant Found Dead, Allegedly Negligent When Cleaning Weapons

Member of the North Kalimantan Regional Police (Kaltara) Brigadier Setyo Herlambang was found dead covered in blood in the office room of the Kaltara Police aide.

Head of Public Relations of the North Kalimantan Police, Kombes Budi Rachmat, said the victim's body was found at around 13.10 WITA.

"At that time the aide's house seemed deserted because the aides were praying Friday," he said, Friday, September 22.

The victim was found lying down and there was an HS-9 firearm beside him.

"Beside it was found senpi with the number HS178837 as an office inventory," said Budi.

During an initial examination by the North Kalimantan Police Dokkes team, Brigadier SH had passed away.

"Ditreskrimum and Bidpropam Polda Kaltara have conducted a crime scene (the crime scene). Tonight, the victim's body was taken to Tarakan Hospital for a post-mortem," he said.

The victim's family also knew about this incident and asked that the victim's body be returned to Semarang (Central Java).

"The family also asked that the autopsy be carried out in Semarang," he explained.

The exact cause of death is not yet known, the Brimob Polda Kaltara personnel.

"Allegedly due to negligence while cleaning firearms, the deceased currently serves as Banit 3 Subden 1 Den Gegana Sat Brimob Polda Kaltara", he concluded.
