The Blasphemy Case Of Panji Gumilang Is Still Being Processed Despite Revocation Of Reports

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police stated that the handling of the alleged blasphemy case with the suspect Panji Gumilang was still ongoing. Although, there was a reporting party who decided to withdraw the report.

"This case (alleged blasphemy against Panji Gumilang) is still being processed," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, Wednesday, September 20.

In fact, investigators have handed over the Panji Gumilang case file to the Attorney General's Office (AGO). Originally, the research prosecutor had stated that the case file was incomplete, both formal and material.

Ramadhan said the reason for the investigation process was still ongoing even though there was a revocation of the report because it was not a complaint offense.

"However, it is understood that this case is not a complaint offense. And also this case is not a case category that can be resolved by restorative justice," he said.

Ramadhan also mentioned that there were only two reports related to Panji Gumilang. Originally, the camp led by the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School said that three reports had been withdrawn.

"There are 2 letters of revocation of reports from KS brothers and MIT brothers," said Ramadhan.

As previously reported, the Panji Gumilang camp claimed that three reporters in the alleged blasphemy case had withdrawn their report. Because, there is already a peace word between them.

The three reporting parties who were said to have withdrawn their reports were Ihsan Tanjung, Ken Kurniawan, and Ruslan Abdul Gani.
