Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Dirmanto, stated that his party provided assistance and technical assistance in the process of investigating cases of alleged violence that made elementary school students in Gresik blind in one of their eyes.

Dirmanto said an elementary school student with the initials SAH (8) from Randudangan, replacing Gresik, was blind after being poked at with a pentol stab in his eye.

"Regarding this case, the East Java Regional Police provided assistance and technical assistance related to the investigation process carried out by the Gresik Police," Dirmanto said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 19.

Dirmanto said that today the East Java Regional Police provided assistance for examinations related to children's psychology. Gresik Police investigators also coordinated with the Regional Police to analyze DVR in a forensic laboratory.

"So there are two things of assistance, the first is related to the psychological process of children and forensic laboratories," he said.

As for the evidence brought to the laboratory, the Gresik Police Chief will submit it.

"As for psychology, it is still unknown how long it will take and we will coordinate it later because it is still ongoing," he said.

SAH was blind after being poked at by his schoolmate using a pentol stab. The incident that happened to the 2nd grade elementary school boy occurred on Monday, August 7, 2023.

At that time, SAH and her classmates were asked to leave the room to take part in the August competition.

At that time, the victim who was in the school yard, was then pulled by his seniors to a hallway between the teacher's room and the school fence. In the hallway the victim was asked for pocket money forcibly.

The victim at that time refused to give money. But brutally, the victim's face was covered with hands and then stabbed with a meatball stab from top to bottom. As a result, the victim's right eye burst into blood and littered the poor boy's white uniform.
