Detain ASN And Technical Team Related To Corruption In Arowana Fish Seeds, Kapuas Hulu Kejari Opens Opportunities For New Suspects

KAPUAS HULU - Kapuas Hulu District Attorney, West Kalimantan, has detained two suspects with the initials S and IR in connection with the alleged corruption case (tipikor) in the procurement of seeds and prospective arowana fish mothers in Kapuas Hulu Regency. "The two suspects were involved in the corruption case in the procurement of arowana fish, so we detained them for further legal proceedings," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Kapuas Hulu District Attorney Bayu Nugraha in Putussibau Kapuas Hulu, Antara, Monday, September 18. Bayu said suspect S is a civil servant (ASN) who in this case is a commitment-making official (PPK), while suspect IR is a technical team for activities of the Kapuas Hulu District Fisheries Service. The two suspects were detained by the Kapuas Hulu District Attorney at 17.29 WIB today and taken to the Putussibau Detention Center for a period of 20 days in the context of further legal proceedings. In this case, the two suspects committed acts against the law to participate in the installation of fish chips and profit from chip installation and caused a number of Arowana fish to die which did not match technical instructions in the procurement of goods and services of the Kapuas Hulu Fisheries Service for the 2020 Fiscal Year with funds of approximately Rp. 1.1 billion. As a result of the actions of the two suspects, he said, the state suffered a loss of Rp. 350 million. Bayu said the two suspects were charged with primary Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption. Subsidiary to Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1998 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption. "The actions of the two suspects are against the law by abusing their positions and enriching and benefiting themselves and others so that they are included in the realm of corruption," explained Bayu.

Bayu said the corruption case in the procurement of arowan fish is still being developed by investigators. It is possible that there will be new suspects. "We have not been able to determine whether there will be other suspects because the case is still under development," said Bayu.
