JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate 2024, Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that the energy transition will be a priority for Indonesia's future government. Efforts to develop new and renewable energy (EBT) will continue to be boosted as an effort to protect the earth from environmental damage threats. This was conveyed by Ganjar in the presence of hundreds of students and lecturers at the University of Indonesia (UI) when filling public lectures at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) UI, Monday 18 September. "We need an energy transition to meet the needs of a very large community and save the environment. If we rely solely on fossil energy, it will not be enough. And we will only enjoy more environmental damage," he said. Currently Ganjar continued, the impact of the use of fossil energy has already occurred. The issue of air pollution in Jakarta, for example, is due to the use of energy that is not environmentally friendly. "We must quickly switch to environmentally friendly energy. So my program in the future realizes green energy and blue energy," he explained. In addition to protecting the environment, the use of renewable new energy, Ganjar continued, it is important to meet the national energy needs. If we rely solely on fossil energy, then the energy needs will never be fulfilled. "And the potential we have a lot, but until now it cannot work.
