Youth Only Remains Silent At The RI-PNG Border Guarded By The Yonif Task Force, Apparently Bringing Sacks Filled With Marijuana

JAYAPURA - The Yonif 122/TS task force on duty at the inheritance post, Keerom Regency, Papua, secured nine packages of marijuana around the inheritance's traditional cross-border post.

Danpos Waris Letda Inf Hasan Basri in a press release in Papua, said the package containing marijuana was found Thursday (14/9) when members of patrols on footpaths or rat trails along the RI-PNG border to traditional cross-border posts in Banda village, Waris District.

At that time, personnel suspected a young man from Papua New Guinea (PNG) who did not dare to pass into Indonesian territory.

Even though at that time many people passed in front of the traditional cross-border post office where TNI soldiers carried out inspections. The young man just stood still around the border gate.

Seeing that, the soldier tried to approach the young man but the person concerned immediately fled and entered the PNG area.

Out of suspicion, then members in the gate who are about 150 meters away from the border post carry out inspections around the area.

When they saw the rice sacks piled up with grass, they were examined and found nine packs of marijuana packages.

"After weighing the nine packs of marijuana packages weighing 462 grams," said Lieutenant Inf Hasan, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 15.

The findings have been reported to Danyon 122/TS and the evidence in the form of nine packs of marijuana was brought to the Waris post.

Kampung Banda is one of the villages located on the RI-PNG border and is included in the Keerom Regency area.
