According to Azhar, from the results of the development of the case the victim, it was known that Egi (23), a resident of Mekarjaya Village, Ciemas District, The information was that the victim and 10 of his colleagues went to the location on Wednesday, (13/09) and at 20.00 WIB immediately carried out mining activities. While mining gold illegally at a depth of approximately nine meters, suddenly the hole collapsed and buried the victim. The victim's colleague who was at that time trying to help Egi, but was unable to save the victim's life was not and was found in the hole dead.

The victim has been evacuated by his colleague and immediately taken to his house for burial at the local public cemetery. His party is currently still coordinating with related parties for further handling, including giving an appeal to residents not to carry out mining without permission. Azhar said that the mine location had been closed by the Sukabumi Regency Forkopimda some time ago which was initiated directly by the Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede, and some illegal gold miners have even been arrested and are currently undergoing detention and trial.
