Breaking Through The Prisoner's Ceiling, Convicts In Theft Case Escape From The Riau Bengkalis Prison

BENGKULU - An inmate named Arifin who is a recidivist of the theft case was reported to have escaped by breaking into the block C prisoner ceiling of Bengkalis Prison in Riau on Wednesday, September 13 at around 03.00 WIB.

"The detainee named Arifin is 36 years old and was sentenced to 5 years in prison for being involved in a theft case. He has served a sentence of about eight months," said Head of Bengkalis Prison, Muhamad Lukman, Wednesday, September 13, confiscated by Antara.

Currently, the Bengkalis Prison, assisted by the police, is hunting for Arifin, who is a resident of Sabak Auh, Siak Regency. Arifin escapes, it is estimated that when the guard officers at Post 2 and Post 3 heard the sound of objects falling behind.

Then the officers conducted a sweep and found that one inmate had disappeared through the prisoner's ceiling and fled through the back wall.

"We also hope that people who know the whereabouts of the prisoner will immediately report it to us or to the nearest police officer," said Lukman.

The escape of prisoners in Bengkalis Prison has happened several times.

On Friday, April 25, 2014 at around 11.30 WIB, a prisoner named Masriyanto alias Rian bin Masman was also reported to have fled. He was previously sentenced to 3.5 years in connection with the theft case running away when he was given permission to dispose of garbage.

Then there was a prisoner named Amsan alias Adi bin Hamzah (30) in a criminal case of drug abuse who escaped on November 21, 2014.

Furthermore, two Syafran inmates alias Ran narcotics and theft cases were sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 800 million, a subsidiary of 2 months and 1 year in prison with a address at Sungai Batang Village, Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency.

Finally, Syamsuardi alias Ardi, a narcotics case with a sentence of 7 years and 6 months in prison, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 2 months in prison with the address at Bumbung Village, Bathin Solapan District, Bengkalis Regency, also escaped on November 21, 2014 through a culvert.
