BMKG Predicts Central Kalimantan Potentially Heavy Rain Accompanied By Lightning

PALANGKA RAYA- The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Tjilik Riwut Palangka Raya, predicts that most areas of Central Kalimantan Province (Kalteng) have the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning.

"Starting today until September 9, most areas of Central Kalimantan have the potential for moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning or lightning and strong winds," said BMKG forecaster Tjilik Riwut Palangka Raya, Renianata, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 8.

The areas of Central Kalimantan that have the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds include the northern part of Kotawaringin Regency (Kotim), Lamandau Regency, northern Seruyan Regency, northern Katingan Regency and Gunung Mas Regency (Gumas).

Then Murung Raya Regency (Mura), North Barito Regency (Newt), South Barito Regency (Barsel) north, East Barito Regency (Bartim), northern Kapuas Regency and Palangka Raya City.

"Meanwhile, on September 10 to 13, the Central Kalimantan region has the potential for moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds including Gunung Mas Regency, Murung Raya Regency, North Barito Regency and northern Kapuas Regency," he said.

BMKG appealed to people in the province nicknamed "Bumi Tambun Bungai, Bumi Pancasila" to be aware and careful of the impact of disasters caused.

The impact was like puddles of water, floods, flash floods, landslides and fallen trees due to these weather conditions.
