Japanese Prime Minister Arrives In Indonesia Attending The ASEAN Summit

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his companions arrived in Indonesia, to attend a series of meetings at the 43rd ASEAN Summit (KTT) in Jakarta.

Fumio Kishida, as informed by the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten Province, at around 18.00 WIB.

The arrival of the Japanese Prime Minister in Indonesia was welcomed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif and Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Kasunagi Kenji.

The agenda for welcoming Fumio Kishida at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was also accompanied by traditional dances and ranks of honorary troops.

Japan is part of Mitra Wicara ASEAN, in addition to the United States, Australia, India, Britain, Canada, South Korea, Russia, New Zealand, the People's Republic of China, and the European Union.

Mitra Wicara ASEAN is a regional and international organization that is a partner of ASEAN cooperation in various fields.

ASEAN also has a Sectoral Wicara Partner relationship with Pakistan, Norway, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, and Turkey. There is also a relationship between Development Partners with Cile, France, Italy, and Germany.

In addition, Japan is also part of the ASEAN+3 which is a form of ASEAN cooperation based on an agreement in Manila, Philippines, on June 9, 2004.

Apart from Japan, ASEAN+3 also involved the People's Republic of China (RRT) and South Korea.

ASEAN+3 originated from the increasing need for energy, both at the regional and international levels.

Some of the ASEAN+3 programs that have been approved are the Oil Stockpiling Forum, Oil Market Forum, Energy Security Forum, and Natural Gas Forum.

ASEAN+3 cooperation continues to be expanded and deepened in various fields. There are currently 13 ministerial-level meetings under ASEAN+3 cooperation.
