Anies Denies The Assumption Of Party Officers, Explains The Option From Surya Paloh Which Makes Sense For Central Java-East Java

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan's presidential candidate dismissed the assumption that he was a party official because he accepted the decision of the Head of NasDem Surya Paloh regarding being paired with Muhaimin Iskandar.

Anies explained that the options given by Surya Paloh made sense for efforts to win the 2024 presidential election.

"If Mr. Surya Paloh proposes a name that is irrelevant to the winning effort and I have to carry it out, then I am a party official. But if the name is brought according to our needs, as I said in June, we need to invite PKB (because) we are weak in East Java and in Central Java and we need a party that has a strong basis there. So when there is this name, this is a name that suits our needs," said Anies Baswedan in an exclusive interview. Blahimin in Mata Najwa quoted from Mata Najwa's Youtube channel, Monday, September 4.

In an interview with Najwa Shihab, Anies explained how Surya Paloh explained his options. A quick decision to invite the PKB coalition was chosen to ensure winning efforts.

"Pak Surya Paloh chose to choose the first option to take the deal first and then set it up. Indeed, there is a risk, the risk of feeling missed, abandoned," said Anies.

When (Surya Paloh) met me, it was said that there were two other parties already in the conversation, saying that this is a new option that is not in our conversation. If what is offered is not a solution, I am implementing it, I (called) an officer (party), but if it is a solution, it makes sense," said Anies.
