Anies And Muhaimin Come Separately At The AMIN Declaration Location

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan and Vice Presidential Candidate Muhaimin Iskandar arrived at the location of the declaration of the Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN) pair at the Majapahit Hotel, Surabaya City, East Java, Saturday, separately.

Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar came first at around 13.52 WIB. Arriving at the hotel lobby, Muhaimin did not give much statement, only stating that before leaving for the declaration he asked his mother for his blessing.

"Alhamdulillah, I was silent, yesterday Mr. Anies, now I am," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, September 2.

Cak Imin, as Muhaimin is called, wore a white shirt covered with a black pants Dam jacket.

Then at around 14:17 WIB, it was Anies Baswedan's turn with the Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh and the NasDem management arrived at the Majapahit Hotel.

After the two arrived, Anies and Muhaimin sat face to face on the same table. In the same place, Surya Paloh was also seen.

The three of them seemed to chat with warm and smile at each other. They also seem to be talking to each other.

Monitoring at the location, after chatting, the three of them then headed to Balai Andika Hotel Majapahit to carry out the agenda for the declaration of future presidential candidates and prospective vice presidential candidates.

The three political figures' steps towards the location were also followed by cadres and administrators from the National Awakening Party (PKB) and NasDem.

Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that the candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
