JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has begun to hold a ticket for vehicles that have not or have not passed the emission test at a number of points, one of which is at the Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Jalan MT Haryono, Pancoran, South Jakarta.
At this location, an emission test was also held for vehicles. One of the drivers named Andi also took part in the emission test on his vehicle. After receiving the results of the emission test, Andi's vehicle was declared unsuccessful.
Andi was surprised. From home to location, he believes his Honda Supra X 125 motorcycle can pass the emission test. Because Andi just served his vehicle.
"My vehicle was declared not to have passed. Even though it was only served, it was still targeting this. Just yesterday's service changed oil. He said the settings were not good. The gasoline mixture was large, so the carbon that came out was a lot beyond the threshold," Andi said when met at the location, Friday, September 1.
The heart's intention to test vehicle emissions to pass the raid, finally Andi was subject to a ticket by the officer. Andi's vehicle number sign letter (STNK) was immediately brought by the officer.
"Earlier we saw that there was a free emission test, we voluntarily came. It turned out to be an ambyar. Even though I was sure earlier, but it wasn't (the emission test course)," he said.
At the same location, Wadirlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Doni Hermawan, said that the emission test ticket was immediately enforced to vehicles simultaneously at five points apart from his office, namely on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, East Jakarta; Jalan RE Martadinata, North Jakarta; Taman Anggrek, West Jakarta; Blok M Terminal, South Jakarta; and Jalan Asia Africa, Central Jakarta.
"We together with the LH office simultaneously carry out emission testing activities in the DKI area, there are 5 points and I think the community already knows that today there is an imposition of fines," said Doni.
"For this reason, today we ensure that we control the community in ensuring that the vehicle is also before we control the community that officers must also ensure that their vehicles are also tested for emissions," he continued.
Vehicles that do not pass the emission test will be subject to fines in the form of fines ranging from Rp. 250 thousand to Rp. 500 thousand. For 2-wheeled vehicles, a fine of Rp. 250 thousand is imposed. Meanwhile, 4-wheeled vehicles amounted to Rp. 500 thousand.
The amount of the fine is regulated in accordance with Article 285 Paragraph 1 and Article 276 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ).
Continuing, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, explained that the emission test ticket was carried out with the aim of making people aware to help reduce air pollution in the capital city.
"The short-term solution that we are currently doing is the application of an effective emission test ticket to reduce Jakarta pollution," said Asep.
