Bogor Regency Government Processes Insurance Claims 7 Hectares Of Rice Fields Failed To Harvest

BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Government, West Java, processed rice farming business insurance (AUTP) claims for two farmer groups whose 7 hectares of rice fields experienced puso or crop failure.

Acting Head of the Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops (Distanhorbun) Bogor Regency, Tatang Mulyadi, explained that every one hectare of rice fields that experienced crop failure was paid Rp. 6 million by an insurance company appointed by the government.

"The important thing is in accordance with the criteria, per hectare is IDR 6 million from the insurance claim," Tatang said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.

He explained that the 7 hectares of rice fields that experienced crop failure were in Ciawi District, Bogor Regency.

"Now there are two farmer groups reported to us who were affected by the 7 hectares of puso in Ciawi District," he said.

The Distanhorbun of Bogor Regency also recorded an area of 1.5 hectares of rice fields experiencing severe drought. Then, moderate drought of 39.3 hectares, light drought of 87.5 hectares, and threatened drought of 388.15 hectares.

He explained that the criteria for mild drought were characterized by soil surface bursts and no water sources.

"Criteria are moderate, soil is broken, water sources are not there, growth has looked good. Criteria are heavy, the soil is split, our feet can also enter, the leaves are already pinning," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of Business Protection and Services of the Bogor Regency Distanhorbun, Judi Rahmat, explained that in the May-August 2023 period there were 11 thousand hectares of insured rice fields.

"The insurance is valid during the planting period to harvest or within four months," he said.

The insurance registration fee is valued at IDR 180 thousand per hectare borne by the government, 80 percent or IDR 144 thousand from the central government, and 20 percent or IDR 36 thousand from the Bogor Regency Government.

Judi explained that the requirements and conditions that farmers need to do to insure their rice fields are by registering rice fields with officers so that they can be guided so that they can enter the Information System owned by Distanhorbun at a time of 30 days.

During 2023 or twice the planting period, the Bogor Regency Government has insured as many as 25 thousand hectares of rice plants belonging to farmers.
