Denpasar Police Send SPDP To The Prosecutor For The Sealing Of The LABHI Office

Bali - Denpasar Police Satreskrim investigators sent a notification letter for the start of the investigation (SPDP) to the local public prosecutor's office in the case of alleged forced sealing of the office of the Indonesian Advocacy and Legal Aid Institute (LABHI) in Denpasar, Bali. Head of the Denpasar Police Public Relations Section AKP Ketut Sukadi said the SPDP was sent to the Denpasar Kejari after investigators raised the status of the case from public complaint reports regarding the alleged closure of the Legal Aid Institute office in Denpasar (LABHI) in Block C1 Jalan Badak Agung, Sumerta Kelod, Renon Denpasar by several thugs some time ago. In this case, Sukadi mentioned I Made Suardana as the reporter and A. A Ngurah Mayun Wira Ningrat, and his friends as the reported parties for alleged criminal acts against other people's independence. Sukadi explained, since the status of the case was raised to Police Report Number LP/B/120/VIII/2023/SPKT/SAT.RESKRIM/POLRESTA DPS/BALI, dated August 22, 2023, investigators have carried out a number of investigative actions such as the issuance of SPDP, examining witnesses and collecting evidence. "This is an effort by investigators to follow up and identify the facts related to the report," said Sukadi in Denpasar, Antara, Sunday, August 27. Sukadi revealed that the serious handling of the case of forced sealing of the LABHI office showed the police's commitment, especially the Denpasar Police, in taking concrete steps in handling the report. Whistleblower I Made Suardana and his wife have been re-examined on August 25, 2023 to make clear the case. On Saturday (26/8/23) investigators continued the agenda of examining the statements of five witnesses related to this incident in the hope of providing a wider perspective on the case. In addition, said Sukadi, the police will also conduct an examination of the notary involved in the power of attorney on the land and confiscate the evidence in the case. "We are trying to reveal the truth behind the report, by taking a series of actions so that this case can be resolved," he said. Sukadi hopes that with various steps that have been and will be taken by the police, it is hoped that this case can be resolved fairly and transparently in accordance with applicable law. Previously, the sealing of the LABHI office in Block C1 Jalan Badak Agung, Sumerta Kelod, Renon, Denpasar emerged after whistleblower Made Suardana reported allegations of sealing the LABHI office by several thugs on Friday 19/5/2023 at around 12.30 WITA. According to the reporter's statement, Made Suardana, the perpetrator deliberately parked the vehicle at the entrance to the office which made the person who was working in the office who had just been repaired frightened. As a result of this action, the complainant cannot carry out work activities and legal services.
