After The African Visit, President Jokowi Arrived In Binjai, North Sumatra Checks Prices Of Basic Materials

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Friday morning, after a five-day work trip to the African continent.

President Jokowi was welcomed by the Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi, Pangdam I/Bukit Barisan Major General TNI A. Daniel Chardin, and North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Agung Setya Imam, based on a statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat.

While in Africa, the President attended the 15th BRICS Summit in the South African Republic where the Head of State delivered his speech on the importance of consistency in respecting international law and human rights.

In the forum attended by four of the five leaders of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), the President also stressed that the current world economic order is unfair and that should not be tolerated.

Selain itu, selama kunjungan ke Afrika, Presiden juga melakukan pertemuan dengan sejumlah pemimpin negara yakni Republik Kenya, Republik Persatuan Tanzania, dan Republik Mozambique.

Previously, President Jokowi and his entourage took off from O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South African Republic, on Thursday (24/8), at 14:35 local time (WS) or at 19.35 WIB.

In North Sumatra, the President will visit Binjai City to greet and provide assistance to traders. After that, the Head of State is scheduled to inaugurate the Medan-Binjai-Deli Serdang (Medangan) regional drinking water management system (SPAM) and Aek Tano Ponggol Bridge.

Also accompanying the President on flights from Africa were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
