Two Residents Found Dead In Fire In Front Of Central Jakarta City Government Office

Two residents were reported to have died as a result of a severe fire that hit a densely populated area on Jalan Gang Kober, South Petojo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, August 23, evening.

"Two victims died," said Head of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, August 24.

According to data from the Central Jakarta Fire Management Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat), the total number of residents affected by the fire reached 960 people from 240 families (KK) in 4 RTs.

Gambir Sub-district Head Andri Ferdian said 574 people were affected by the fire from 196 families.

"The identity of the victim died as a result of a fire named Tisna and Mrs. Anjar," he said.

Previously, it was reported that hundreds of residents of Jalan Gang Kober, Petojo Selatan Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta were forced to lose their homes after the flames devoured their homes in a short time.

They started visiting the location of the fire evacuation post on Wednesday, August 23, at around 23.15 WIB.

Andri Ferdian also explained that the residents affected by the fire were in RW 08, South Petojo Village.

"The number of residents affected by the fire was 574 people from 196 families. There were 4 RTs that caught fire, including RT 02, 03, 04 and 05 in RW 08," Andri said when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, August 23, evening.

Andri further said that there were no casualties as a result of the fire.

"(victims) While nil. The cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.
