TANGERANG - A total of 23 cases of acute respiratory infection (ARI) were handled by the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Tangerang Regency. This is allegedly due to the deteriorating air quality in the area.

Head of the Publication and Information Law Installation (HPI), Dr. Hilwani, said that of the dozens of patients treated, some of them had been treated at their hospital in July 2023.

As for the dozens of cases of ARI in detail, there were 12 cases of acute upper respiratory tract infection, 5 cases of acute pharynitis, 3 cases of acute reconciliation, 3 larangitis and acute tracing experienced by the patient.

"Based on data in July alone, the Tangerang Hospital has handled 23 cases," said the Head of the Publication and Information Legal Installation (HPI), Dr. Hilwani in a short message, Wednesday, August 23.

Meanwhile, in this August period, the number of cases of respiratory problems is still in the data collection stage, so it cannot be conveyed.

Therefore, for preventive measures, he advised the public to continue to use masks to prevent disease.

"What is certain is that the influence of air pollution has an impact on health. And for prevention, it is the same as what the government urges, namely wearing masks," he concluded.
