ASN DKI WFH 50 Percent But Jakarta Still Congested, Heru Budi: Don't Blame Local Government

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that efforts to break up congestion and control air quality cannot only be done from government elements alone.

This is in response to the traffic conditions in Jakarta which remain congested even though the DKI Provincial Government has issued a 50 percent policy of state civil servants (ASN) who do not serve the community directly to work from home (WFH).

"Yes, don't blame the local government. (The number of employees) of the regional government is only 25 thousand. The movement of humans in Jakarta is 25 million, you know," Heru said when met in Kalideres, West Jakarta, Wednesday, August 23.

Heru views that improving air quality, especially in terms of reducing the use of private motorized vehicles in Jakarta, needs to be followed by the community.

"It means together. I hope everyone can come along but it doesn't reduce economic growth, it's self-regulated," said Heru.

Heru also appealed to private companies based in the capital city to implement WFH policies with a composition of 50 percent to their employees so that efforts to improve air quality could be more optimal.

"I urge the private sector to regulate itself so that the economy continues to grow, as well as reduce pollution, reduce congestion," he explained.

The WFH policy for ASN DKI Provincial Government is carried out in order to reduce the level of air pollution and congestion during the 43rd ASEAN Summit (KTT).

The DKI Provincial Government has implemented a maximum WFH policy of 50 percent from August 21 to October 21, 2023, to ASN who do not work in the field of direct service to the community.

Then, specifically during the ASEAN Summit, the composition of WFH ASN was increased to 75 percent from September 4 to September 7, 2013.

During WFH, ASN is required to report attendance or attendance on the pages provided every morning and evening. The mechanism for this attendance report also requires ASN to turn on the cameras and locations on their respective devices to be recorded by the system.

If later there is ASN DKI that violates the behavioral guidelines in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Number 34 of 2023 concerning the Implementation of Official Affairs from Home (WFH), it will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations.
