7 Perpetrators Of Selling Hard Drugs Arrested By The Bandung Police Work As Daily Workers

The Bandung Police Narcotics Unit secured 53,500 hard drugs during a week's operation, from August 14 to 20, 2023. Bandung Police Chief Kombes Kusworo Wibowo said tens of thousands of pills of hard drugs were secured from seven suspected dealers from several areas of Bandung Regency. "Over the past week, we have carried out enforcement activities against illegal hard drugs because they are sold freely," said Kusworo in Soreang, Bandung Regency, Antara, Tuesday, August 22. The seven suspected dealers arrested were AA, KW, EP, RG, JA, AT and MA, who were secured with tens of thousands of hard drugs of various brands. The drugs, consisting of Trihexyphenidyl as many as 15,500 pills, Hexymer as many as 12 thousand pills, tramadol as many as 21 thousand pills, and dextrometetorphane as many as five thousand pills. "The seven suspects have a variety of jobs, including casual daily workers, laborers in gardens, laborers in companies and catering workers," he said. For the sales mode carried out by the suspects, various kinds were carried out, such as using a tissue shop. "Someone used a waist bag, then behind his bag someone immediately transacted money, medicine came out. We will reveal it from the dealer to the dealer who supplies the goods," he said. He emphasized that the Bandung Police would not remain silent on the sale of hard drugs, and would continue to take action. "So if the public knows information related to the sale of hard drugs, please not hesitate to inform the police through 110 or social media of the Bandung Police," he said. Kusworo also appealed to people who have already consumed, to make determination to stop. "If necessary, ask for rehabilitation to be able to stop. Because if you continue to use it, you can overdose, which can cause death, you can also be caught by the police as a prisoner of the Bandung Police," he said.

For their actions, the perpetrators were snared in Articles 196 and 197 of the Health Law 36 of 2009, according to their respective roles. With the threat of imprisonment of 10 to 15 years in prison, and a maximum fine of Rp. 1 billion to Rp. 1.5 billion.
