Jokowi Is Said To Be Also Andil When Golkar-PAN Join The Gerindra-PKB Coalition

Political observer from Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that President Joko Widodo's intervention from the closeness of the Golkar Party and PAN in the Gerindra-PKB coalition supports Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in 2024.

Jokowi's scenario to combine this grand coalition, said Ujang, was marked by a meeting between Jokowi and the General Chair of Gerindra, PKB, Golkar, PAN, and PPP. Although, in the end, PPP decided to join the PDIP to support Ganjar Pranowo.

Jokowi's meeting with the leaders of political parties (political parties) took place during the Ramadan Gathering at the PAN Jakarta DPP Office on Sunday, April 2.

"This is in accordance with the scenario of the grand coalition, which was previously a secret by Jokowi during the meeting at the PAN DPP. Minus PDIP and also Nasdem, namely (obtained) Gerindra, PKB, PAN and Golkar. So, this is part of the big coalition," Ujang told reporters, Monday, August 14.

According to Ujang, it was too coincidental if PAN and Golkar declared support for Prabowo together on Sunday, August 13 at the Proclamation Script Formulation Museum, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Just look at how PAN and Golkar together support Prabowo at the same time, at the same place. It's possible that there is a directive, if there is no direction, the day will be different, the place is different, "explained Ujang.

Yesterday, the Golkar Party and PAN declared their support for Prabowo Subianto to become a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election. With this support, Golkar and PAN officially docked with the Gerindra and PKB coalitions.

However, Prabowo supports Golkar and PAN for him to participate in the upcoming 2024 political contestation is not a directive from President Jokowi.

The Minister of Defense emphasized that Jokowi is the head of state who respects the attitude of their respective political parties.

"Pak Jokowi is a very democratic person. So, he really respects the independence and rights of every political party. I think that's what I have to emphasize," Prabowo said at the Proclamation Script Formulation Museum, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 13.

For example, said Prabowo, Jokowi did not interfere when the Perindo Party previously came to Gerindra to provide his support to Prabowo in the 2023 presidential election contestation, before finally the party led by Hary Tanoesoedibjo changed its direction to support Ganjar Pranowo.

"Whatever party decision, my experience and my belief I think all ketum (also sure), he (Jokowi) will not prohibit, will not dictate. In fact, so. There is a lot of evidence," explained Prabowo.
