JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the investigation into the alleged corruption of the inactive Papua Governor's operational funds, Lukas Enembe, has entered the final stage. The status of the case will be raised to investigation in the near future.
"This investigation is in the final stages, so, just wait, it's almost over," Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur told reporters, Saturday, August 12.
"That's right (it will go into investigation, ed)," he continued.
Asep said this case was not related to accepting bribes. The reason is that the anti-corruption commission found allegations of state losses.
Even so, Asep still did not want to specify the amount of state losses incurred. He just said everything would be conveyed in due course.
"Later we will announce it because the one who calculates state financial losses is the BPK or BPKP," he said.
Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata revealed that Lukas' operational money was higher than the provisions regulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
"Every year the operational funds concerned are more than Rp. 1 trillion," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, June 26.
"The governor's operational funds should be calculated according to the percentage of the regional budget (APBD)," said Alex. However, Lukas actually budgeted more and partly spent on consumption.
Not only that, investigators found most of the receipts attached to fictitious ones. "Imagine that Rp1 trillion is used a third by eating and drinking. That's one day Rp1 billion for food and drink shopping," said Alexander.
"Of course this will be experienced further because there are a large number of thousands of receipts of evidence of expenses that cannot be verified," he continued.
