Fishermen Lost Due To Ship Breaks Down Hit In Babel Waters Found Dead

The joint SAR team managed to find a fisherman named Hasan (60), a resident of Sungailiat, Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel).

Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bangka Regency, Ridwan in Sungailiat, said Hasan was found dead about five miles northeast of Jelitik Port on Thursday, August 10 afternoon.

Meanwhile, Dika managed to save himself by swimming using jerry cans as an emergency safety tool, before receiving help from fishermen.

The joint SAR team searched for victims on the same day, but had to be stopped because the wave conditions in the waters of the Sungailiat sea were quite high, reaching 1.5 to two meters.

The joint SAR team deployed to look for victims involved personnel from the Ditpolairud Polda, Basarnas Pangkalpinang, BPBD Bangka, volunteers and fishermen Sungailiat and the community.

"I remind all fishermen who do fishing at sea, apart from having to stay alert to the weather, put the ship in the fishing zone or on a safe route to avoid crossing other ships sailing on that route," he said.
