Khofifah Claims Not To Discuss Presidential Election With Jokowi

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa admitted that he did not discuss the presidential and vice presidential elections in his meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace in Jakarta.

"No, no," said Khofifah at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.

Khofifah admitted that she did not discuss the figure of the Acting Governor of East Java who would replace her because her term as Governor of East Java had only ended in December 2023.

The NU figure said he only reported about the economic development in East Java to Joko Widodo.

Regarding the political plan, Khofifah admitted that she had not spoken to certain political figures, and was still waiting for the recommendations of the ulama.

"There are meetings that are regularly held by scholars, kiai in East Java, and have not yet reached the final position of how the recommendations for me are, especially," he explained.

According to him, the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board has always given cadres the opportunity to convey their political actualization.

Khofifah said her communication with parties in the regions had been good so far. He said regional political maps are not always the same as national maps

"So if the regional map happens to be coordination between the provincial government and fellow political parties is very good. We build very good communication in East Java, good communication so that the national map is not always presented with maps at the regional and local levels," he explained.
