A French Foreigner With Only ITAS But Works As A Contractor In NTB, Deported By Mataram Immigration

NTB - Mataram Immigration in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) deported a foreign citizen (WNA) from France with the initials GG (34) for violating a residence permit as a foreign worker (TKA).

"So, this GG has an ITAS (limited stay permit) for foreign workers issued in Bali, but the person concerned actually works in the NTB region," said Head of the Mataram Immigration Office Pungki Handoyo in Mataram, NTB, Thursday, August 10, quoted by Antara.

While in NTB, he continued, GG was found to be working as a contractor for a villa construction project in the Selong Belanak area, Central Lombok Regency.

From the results of the immigration investigation, GG's activities in Selong Belanak had been running for six months. GG's whereabouts were revealed in the Selong Belanak area on 9 July 2023.

"So, this GG carries out activities that are not in accordance with the foreign worker's ITAS and carries out work activities in areas that are not in accordance with his residence permit," he said.

During the investigation, it was discovered that GG had come to NTB after being asked to be a contractor by the people in the area. After being examined, it was concluded that GG was proven to have violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

For those rules that are violated, the Immigration Service applies immigration administrative sanctions in the form of deportation and includes GG's name on the Deterrence List.

"We are carrying out the deportation process to his country of origin in France today directly through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali," said Pungki.
