Free From The Threat Of Perpetrators, 2 Victims Of Rudapaksa Dad Kandung In Halut Were Relocated By The Ministry Of Social Affairs

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) relocated J (19) and his younger brother G (17), victims of sexual violence who were the perpetrators of their own biological father. The incident took place since 2019 in their neighborhood in North Halmahera (Halut).

"Incidentally, I read about the case against children by their parents because it was accompanied by threats against the victim's mother. I came to condition so that the victim felt comfortable and not threatened anymore," said Minister of Social Affairs (Mansos) Tri Rismaharini in a statement, Thursday, August 10, quoted by Antara.

The Minister of Social Affairs visited J and G accompanied by the victim's biological mother. Both of them not only experienced sexual violence, but also physical violence.

This incident was known to the victim's biological mother, but did not dare to report because she was abused and threatened. The victim's mother often experiences domestic violence by the perpetrator.

In front of the media at the Wasana Bahagia Ternate Center, Wednesday, August 9, together with North Maluku Governor Abdul Ghani Kasuba and other forkopimda elements, the Minister of Social Affairs discussed persuading the victim's mother to be willing to be relocated to a safer place. Relocation needs to be done for the mental and psychological recovery of the family.

Ternate Mayor M Tauhid Suleman who was also present guaranteed to help move schools to Ternate for the victim and his younger brother. Meanwhile, North Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Midi Siswoko and Dandim 1501/Ternate Lt. Col. (Inf) Jamet Nijo will guarantee family security if they want to be relocated.

"Alhamdulillah, from the discussion, I have spoken to the mother and children, so we will have solutions for handling this because coincidentally the one child is pregnant, so we have to handle it together," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Children and the Ternate Happy Wasana Center has previously responded to this case against this family which became news on July 18, 2023.

In addition to conducting psychosocial assessments, the Ministry of Social Affairs Team brought the two victims and their mother for obsestric and gynecologist examinations, and laboratory examinations, as well as psychological care.

The Ministry of Social Affairs advocates so that J and G can continue their education, coordinate with the Social Service regarding DTKS and PBI JK, and meet local officials to provide support to the families of the victims.

Meanwhile, the victim and his sister and cousin received ATENSI (Social Rehabilitation Asistency) assistance in the form of school equipment, clothing, additional nutrition, personal hygiene equipment, and educational play tools. The victim's mother received assistance in the form of mattresses and Entrepreneurship ATENSI for coffee shops near the port.

This entrepreneurship package includes the rental of shops for 1 year as well as tools and materials for making coffee, and additional capital for the food stall business for the victim's grandmother.

As for the legal process, the Ministry of Social Affairs has coordinated with law enforcement officials so that the perpetrators can be punished optimally. Including the addition of 1/3 punishment because the perpetrators are family.
