Kejari Follows Up Reports Of Bekasi Regency DPRD Members Allegedly Receiving Project Gratification

The Bekasi District Attorney's Office (Kejari) is processing reports of a number of elements of society on cases of alleged corruption in the form of receiving gratuities to members of the Bekasi Regency DPRD.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Bekasi District Attorney's Office, Rahmadhy Seno Lumakso, said that the reporting of alleged corruption was received by his party today.

"That there are indeed reports from Ormas Gibas and NGOs regarding the alleged bribery gratuity of DPRD persons," he said in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Monday, August 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the report was registered at the Bekasi District Attorney's Office with number 0117/VIII-DPP/LSM.LIAR/2023 and 0299/GIBAS/DPR-BKS/VIII/2023 dated August 07, 2023 regarding reporting allegations of corruption and bribery gratuities of unscrupulous Bekasi Regency DPRD.

"We will immediately follow up the report by examining cases and puldata (collection of data) and information," he said.

Chairman of the Independent Anti-Rasuah Institution (LiaR) Nofal said that the construction of the reported case began with the giving of promises to partners implementing physical activities by members of the Bekasi Regency DPRD regarding aspiration projects or the main thought of the legislature.

"There are allegations of abuse of authority by unscrupulous Bekasi Regency DPRD officers which lead to criminal acts of corruption," he said.

He said that from the promise, the Bekasi Regency DPRD member was strongly suspected of having received cash in return for hundreds of millions of rupiah and two units of Mitsubishi Pajero and BMW luxury cars from the contractor promised by the project.

"We suspect that there has been a practice of buying and selling the council's aspirations project through the council's main mind to partners or contractors," he said.

"What is clear is that based on the evidence and information of a number of resource persons, it is confirmed that there have been purchases and receipts as well as the whereabouts of two cars, Pajero and BMW to one of the PDI-Perjuangan council members of Bekasi Regency. The two vehicles are known from local contractors with the initials RS, so we leave them to the prosecutor's office," he added.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Joint Mass Organization for the Siliwangi Barisan Anak Initiative (GIBAS) Resort, Bekasi Regency, Mandalesta, said that his party had also reported the alleged corruption crime.

"We have pocketed a number of evidences, such as receipts of receipts and receipts of money, which amounted to hundreds of millions. This is a bad image for the DPRD institution. Persons like this must be prosecuted according to the applicable law, where he, who is said to voice the aspirations of the people, even those who sell aspirations," he said.

"There is no room for corrupt officials in this country. We people will not remain silent, if there are still unscrupulous officials committing criminal acts, especially corruption, we will continue to move forward," he concluded.
