Seventh Day Of Search, Missing Syamsuddin In East Kalimantan Bakau Forest Has Not Been Found

SAMARINDA - Entering the seventh day of the search, the Joint Search And Rescue (SAR) Team of the Berau Regency Unit, East Kalimantan, has not yet found a missing fisherman named Syamsuddin (67). "Until the seventh day now, the Berau Unit Search and Rescue Team is still searching for victims who are suspected of missing. We are still trying our best to this day," said Balikpapan City Basarnas Head Melkyanus Kotta when contacted from Samarinda, Antara, Monday, August 7. The news of the disappearance of Syamsuddin was conveyed by Rama Harmaza on Monday, July 31 morning. The victim is suspected of missing in mangrove forest, Sambarata River area, Tasuk Village, Gunung Tabur District, Berau Regency. Syamsuddin, who lives in Gayam Village, Tanjung Redeb District, said goodbye to his family to go to the Sambarata River to fish by boat the day before. However, until Monday morning the victim had not returned home. Then the victim's family came to the Sambarata River, where the victim used to look for fish, but at that location only a boat tied to a tree and a cell phone (HP) was found on the boat. The victim's family then searched various parts around the area, but did not find Syamsuddin, the victim's family (Rama Harmaza) reported the incident to the Gunung Tabur Police, which was then forwarded to the Berau Basarnas Alert Unit. After receiving a report from the victim's family, the Berau Unit SAR Team immediately coordinated with the victim's family and moved to the location shown by the victim's family. The search continues every day until the seventh day or Monday by the SAR team which is still divided into two groups. The Joint SAR Team I combed the land for 10 kilometers (km), while the Joint SAR II Team conducted a search to the east as far as 20 km, namely combing the river using residents' ketinting boats and rigid stable boats (RIBs). Melki, Melkyanus' nickname, said that the elements involved in today's search were the Rescue Team of the Berau SAR Alert Unit, Polair Polres Berau, TNI AL Pos AL Berau, Gunung Tabur Police, ERG Berau Coal, communities and mountain climbers, Ithaca Resources, the Tasuk Village Government, the community and the families of the victims.
