Ministry Of PUPR Accelerates Toll Road Development Towards IKN Nusantara

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has accelerated the construction of the toll road to the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan in order to increase connectivity.

"Currently, the progress in the 3A segment is 12.33 percent, Section 3B is 30.11 percent, and Section 5A is 37.39 percent. The three sections are targeted to be completed in mid-2024 around June or July," said Head of the IKN Development Implementation Work Unit 2 of the East Kalimantan National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN). Armen Adekristi in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday 5 August.

Armen said that the construction of the IKN Toll Road which is currently running is in three sections, namely Section 3A Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau with a length of 13.4 km, Section 3B KKT Kariagau-Tradung Intersection with a length of 7.32 km, and Section 5A Simpang Tempadung-Jembatan Pulau Balang with a length of 6.67 km.

Section 6A Riko- Outer Ring Road IKN and Section 6B ITCI Outer Ring Road-Simpang 3 Outer Plan are currently in the process of auctioning work packages with a contract signing target in August 2023.

"Meanwhile, Section 1 of the Sepinggan-Toll Airport Section Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) will be auctioned in October 2023 with a target contract for the December 2023 apda and Section 5B-1 of the Balang Island Bridge Segment - VVIP Airport Plan Intersection and Section 5B-2 of the VVIP Airport Plan Intersection Riko will start the auction in September 2023 with a November 2023 contract target," said Armen.

Sedangkan untuk section 2 adalah bagian dari Tol Balsam. Untuk di section 4 disiapkan pembangunan tunnel bawah laut (immersed tunnel) untuk menjaga lingkungan, dan di section 4 juga disediakan dua lintas untuk satwa, jadi ada semacam tunnel pendek. Untuk immersed tunnel saat ini masih proses lelang pekerjaan desainnya.

The PUPR Ministry is currently also completing the construction of a duplication bridge for the short span of Balang Island in East Kalimantan along 514 meters. This bridge will be connected to the IKN Segment 5A Simpang Tempadung - Balang Island Bridge access toll road. Currently, the construction progress is 25.3 percent and is targeted to be completed in May 2024.

Meanwhile, at KIPP IKN, the Ministry of PUPR has completed the construction of the 1,2 and 3 Sepaku Segment Ring Roads along 5.7 km and the remaining 4 Segment (4.4 km) is in the construction stage with 48.37 percent progress to support connectivity.

In addition to the Sepaku Ring Road, the 2.02 km West side of the National Ambu Road and the 3.27 km East side of the National Ambu Road are currently being built. The West side of the National Ambu Road has been in the construction stage since September 2022 and is targeted for completion in April 2024 with a progress of 39.04 percent.

Meanwhile, the East side of the National Asymptomatic Road has started construction since December 2022 with a progress of 36.52 percent and a target for completion in March 2024.
