Liaison Bridge In Mukomuko Damaged By Floods, PUPR Service Makes Emergency Improvements

MUKOMUKO - The Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, immediately repaired the bridge connecting villages damaged by the flood. The connecting bridge is located in Rentak Mudik Village, Sungai Rumbai District with Rentak Ilir Village in Ipuh District. Head of Highways Division of the Mukomuko Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, Yusup, said the bridge with a concrete frame and wooden floor was damaged because it could not withstand flooding when heavy rains fell. "In a day or two, we will replace the floor of the bridge. Currently we are still looking for wood to replace the damaged bridge floor," he said. He said that the local government is trying to repair the emergency bridge so that two- and four-wheeled vehicles can immediately pass. Furthermore, according to him, the agency will propose to allocate a budget to increase the class of the bridge from a concrete bridge on a wooden floor to a concrete bridge.

He said that a concrete bridge was needed to support the transportation of the residents' plantation products.
